AWARDING THE BIKE TO WORK WINNERS AND CONNECTING ON SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY
Today on World Bicycle Day, we awarded the winners of the ‘Bike to Work’ call for proposals. We received many proposals for promoting solutions for the home to work commute.
Supported by Iganga Foundation Goudappel, Dutch Cycling Embassy and Ride for Life-Sri Lanka සුව දිවියට පාපැදිය சுகவாழ்வுக்குச் சவாரி, we are delighted to award the first prize to WishQue as they continue to develop a software solution that will be open source for organisations interested to promote work home cycling.
Citizens Development Business Finance PLC won second prize in recognition of their ongoing pilot project on bike to work schemes and incentives developed to promote cycling to work.
Third prize winners include Save a Life, Ecoware Lanka, Green Life Generation and Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka– Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management.
To mark this occasion we also hosted a discussion for stakeholders working on Sustainable Mobility. This engaging discussion was attended by representatives of the Urban Development Authority – UDA, Road Development Authority, Bank of Ceylon, PickMe, Uber, UNDP Sri Lanka Citra Lab and the Department of Motor Traffic Sri Lanka
